The 2022 Qingdao International Water Conference’s Expert Lecture Series is coming again! Join experts as they explore a range of topics, including seawater desalination, water resource utilization, and aquatic ecosystem restoration. On June 7, let’s dive in once more. Session 6: Forum on Membrane Materials, Application Innovations, and Development Trends!

When it comes to membrane technology, the types most widely known today include microfiltration membranes, ultrafiltration membranes, nanofiltration membranes, and reverse osmosis membranes. These different membrane types serve distinct separation needs. For example, microfiltration membranes primarily retain suspended solids, bacteria, and certain viruses; nanofiltration membranes are mainly used to remove organic matter, color, and hardness from water; and reverse osmosis membranes filter dissolved salts, colloids, microorganisms, and organic compounds.
In China, the development of membrane technology has not been particularly long; the industry is still in a phase of rapid growth, and identifying pathways for domestic substitution remains a key objective across the sector. Across several booming application areas—such as seawater desalination and lithium extraction from salt lakes—membrane technology has demonstrated significant R&D value.
Many studies forecast that China’s water‑treatment membrane market will capture a larger share of the global market over the next 5 to 10 years, while its overall size is expected to grow steadily as research institutions and enterprises ramp up their investments in R&D. Against this backdrop, it is hardly surprising that the membrane‑technology market continues to expand and its range of applications keeps broadening.
For this very reason, the sixth special session on June 7 will focus exclusively on the theme of “membrane technology.” Hosted by the Qingdao Adie Desalination Center, sponsored by Sanda Membrane Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and supported online by Environmental Protection Online, the Forum on Membrane Materials, Application Innovation, and Development Trends is set to open soon!
Professor Huang Xia of the School of Environment at Tsinghua University and Chair of the IWA Membrane Technology Professional Committee; Professor Wang Yong of Nanjing Tech University; Chief Engineer Hong Yubin of Sanda Membrane Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.; and Associate Dean Zhang Lin of the College of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Zhejiang University—along with several other experts—invite you to join a discussion on “membrane technology”!

Relying on a blood glucose meter, effectively test and distinguish blood sugar levels.
Using a blood glucose meter allows for effective, basic monitoring to determine whether blood sugar levels are within an acceptable range, making it a key tool for managing hyperglycemia and diabetes. For individuals already diagnosed with diabetes, regular, timed blood glucose testing—paying close attention to fluctuations in blood sugar—is of paramount importance. The “two hours after a meal” refers to the two-hour period counted from the moment food enters the body.
A blood glucose meter is an instrument used to measure blood sugar levels.
A blood glucose meter is an instrument used to measure blood sugar levels, primarily for monitoring the glycemic status of patients with diabetes. Regular use of a blood glucose meter allows individuals to closely track their blood sugar levels, enabling timely adjustments to diet and exercise to help manage the condition and prevent further progression. As such, it is an indispensable tool for people living with diabetes.
Isopropyl alcohol dehydration manufacturer: As living standards improve, the number of overweight individuals continues to rise. Obesity increases the risk of diabetes, and over the past two decades or so, China has entered an epidemic phase of the disease. The total number of people with diabetes has already exceeded 100 million—on average, one in ten people is affected. When managing diabetes, it’s important to choose a blood glucose meter that suits your needs and to understand how to perform measurements accurately for the most reliable results.
